Originally started as a side business with just a guy and a truck, we became official in 2024. Our founder, Ryan, had been working for a contractor, serving multiple internet providers in the Central Alberta area.
During this time, he had the opportunity to learn and improve rural internet solutions by offering point-to-point and cow-cam solutions, in addition to regular network maintenance.
After doing this as a side job for several years, he was asked to put someone’s lights up for them. Since then, he has learned a lot and improved his process with every install, offering permanent and holiday lights for families across Central Alberta.
Ryan is the founder of ODon Technologies. Having lived in Central Alberta for the majority of his life, and in Innisfail since 2017, he is proud to call the area his home.
He is a proud husband to Jasmine and father of two young boys, Teddy and Killian. Working full-time as the owner of the company, he has watched and helped it grow into what it is today
In his free time, he is a firefighter, having joined the Penhold Fire Department in 2016 and then joined the Innisfail Fire Department in 2022, where he is a Senior Firefighter to this day.
His love of everything networking and lighting grows every day, with him spending countless hours researching and experimenting with different techniques and methods of installation.
Ryan begins installing Starlink systems for those unable or unwilling to go on their roofs to install themselves. Starting near the Red Deer area
After finding a need for it both through his full-time job and Starlink installs, Ryan begins installing point-to-point systems to connect entire properties under one large system.
Having helped install cameras many times, Ryan sees the need for affordably priced cow cams in the Central Alberta area and begins installing them for farmers everywhere
The first complete house begins. After it becomes known that Ryan is comfortable on ladders, he gets asked to help put permanent lights up. The neighbours see it and ask for his help as well, and the word begins to spread!
After a lot of probing and encouragement from his wife, Ryan makes a Facebook page for his new company, and ODon Technologies is born!
The company has now grown to the size where it hires its first full-time employee. Founder Ryan O’Donoghue! With several part-timers helping on the weekend and evenings ODon Technologies completes more installs in the last 3 months of the year than they did in the first nine
After having worked on commercial networking systems for multiple years under other companies, ODon Technologies signs its first contract for commercial networking, servicing Livebarn installations throughout Central and South Alberta
ODon Technologies continues to grow more and more every day. Now installing lighting from Calgary to Edmonton, fulfilling multiple commercial contracts throughout the province, renting its bucket truck for use, and bringing on its second full-time employee, the future looks bright for the growing company in the years to come!
